Calculate data for Mobile/Dashboards

Prerequisites

We assume you have all prerequisites you may need, including:

1. Get Access to Finmars
2. Link with Finmars ID
3. Install PMS Core or PMS Plus add-on
   
4. How to Import Files in PMS Core and PMS Plus
5. How to Do Calculations for YTM and Modified Duration
6. How to Do Calculations for Performance (Modified Dietz)
   

When to use

It's expected that all calculations are run by respected workflows and or pipelines, but sometimes there is a time you need to run it manually, the most frequent cases are:

1. You made manual edits in the data - this WILL NOT be automatically recalculated;
2. You unchecked calculation options in the PMS Core/PMS Plus and/or other add-ons and/or pipelines; 

Calculate data for Mobile/Dashboards

1. Go to theAdd-ons Dashboard-> PMS  and ensure that the Configuration Helper layout is selected. If it’s not visible,here go to the layoutHelper selection menutab and choose Configuration Helper.
   
   
2. Locate the Calculations section and selectopen Calculate Portfolio History. This process is necessary to ensure that portfolio performance data is correctly displayed in the mobile application.section.
   

   

3. Fill in parameters according to their info ("i" icon close to the parameter's name). 
   
4. Click Run.
5. Confirm parameters and click Run again.
   

   

6. In the Calculateright Portfolio History section,frame you needwill have execution info, click Refresh to fillget in several fields to define the parameters of your calculation.updates.
   

   

   1. The portfolios field allows you to specify particular portfolios. If left empty, the system will process all available portfolios. E.g.: XXX,YYY,ZZZ.
   2. Define the currencies that should be included in the calculation.
   3. Next, specify the date range by entering values in date_fromRefresh and date_to fields.
   4. Choose the segmentation type. You can select bussines_days (Business Days), business_days_end_of_months (Business Days End of Months), or days (Days).
   5. Choose the period types based on reporting needs, such as daily (Daily), ytd (Year to date), mtd (Month to date), qtd (Quarter to date) , and inception ( from the portfolio's start date to the selected date).
   6. Configure the cost methods, which can be avco or fifo.
   7. For performance methods, select modified_dietz.
   8. In the benchmarks field, select sp_500.
7. Once all fields are configured, click Start Workflow to begin the calculation process.
8. After starting the workflow, go to the Workflows section under Configuration to monitor the progress. The calculation will be displayed with Progress status. Once completed, it should show Success. If the results are not updated after running the workflow, refresh the page using the button in the top-right corner.
   
   
9. To check more details, click on the calculate-portfolio-history.task workflow in the Workflows section.

11. The final step involves ensuring that the data is correctly stored and available for the mobile application.
